is it weird that everyone in my english class hates ‘catcher in the rye,’ but i really like it?

i think holden is a fascinating character… reading his thought process is interesting to me, as someone who is pretty much the polar opposite of him, i guess. idk.

i’m not positive about what it is, but this is the first book we’ve read this year that i actually don’t mind reading every day in class.
